My 4 Year Old

Last week I took Hannah in for her 4 year appointment. Here are her stats

Weight: 35lb (50%). Apparently she is the average weight of a 4 year old. (Side note: Peter weighs about 33lbs. I guess that means he is also the average weight of a 4 year old. :-D)

Height: 41.5 inches (90%). Apparently this puts her at the average height of a 5 year old. This is why eventhough she is "average" in weight she is so dang skinny. She is just the long & lean body type, I guess.

Anyhow, a couple weeks ago I had some birthday parties for her (yes, parties, plural). I had one party with her friends (and siblings) and one party with family (mainly adults). I decided that the kids wouldn't be very excited about hanging out and chatting and that the adults wouldn't get too many thrills from the treasure hunt and follow the leader. Both parties were tons of fun and it was great to celebrate the whole weekend.

Here's the crew that came to the kiddo party. Oliver, Owen, Peter, Hannah, and Sasha. Maya didn't make the picture (she's Sasha's 1 year old sister), and unfortunately Claire and Daphine were sick so they had to miss.

The balloons were definitely a highlight of the party. Actually, they are still afloat today, 3.5 weeks later. And they still provide minutes upon minutes of entertainment. It's amazing!

Check out the yummy cake I made. It's 3 layers: 2 pink layers and one white/confetti layer, with jam inbetween the layers and chocolate frosting with pink letters. Yum!!

Easter outfits

This year our church was offering free family protraits on Easter Sunday, so we got the kids all decked out for the pictures (actually, truth be told, Caleb went out shopping on Saturday night and got our kids the cutest little outfits). Although they haven't emailed me our family pictures yet, here are some of the kids.

Hannah's Special Day

Today was Hannah's Special Day at preschool. It was suppose to be on April 12, her birthday, but she was sick so today was the day. Here's what Hannah had to say about herself.

I am a girl
I am 4 years old
My favorite color is Pink, Red and Blue
My favorite food is Key Lime Pie.
I am learning to swim under water.
I can pick up something I dropped from the table without falling off the chair.

Hannah loves to paint. Today she decided to paint her hands as well.

Fun Photos

Here are some cute pictures of the cute things that happen around our place.

Last weekend we were in Spokane visiting Titus, Elizabeth, Joe and Judah. Joe was kind enough to share Woody with Miriam.

Peter is such a snuggler. He loves to sit on people's laps and just stay there. Here we are reading a book together. He's big teddy bear. :-D

Miriam was just chilling on the floor (she really can't do much else) and Peter came and joined her. It was really cute.


It was alittle chilly in Spokane so Els loaned us a warm outfit for Miriam.

And in other news, we bought an Xbox 360 and the Kinect. The Kinect is really fun...alot more fun than I thought it was going to be...and really good exercise. Unlike the Wii, you can't fake it. You really have to jump and run. Well, Caleb also bought Halo and when he plays he makes funny faces, like this one. Isn't he cute?

I'm so blessed to have such a cute family. I think I've used the word cute to describe every single family member in this post.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted something. Normally if I have a moment to myself I either nap...or nap.

Happy Birthday Hannah

Today is Hannah's 4th birthday. We've been celebrating all weekend (on Friday we had a kids party, and on Saturday we had a family party). But I saved my favorite present for today.

Hannah loves to match and she loves to help in the kitchen. We used these tonight while making her favorite dinner: Els's Taco Salad.

Miriam had her 2 week check up on Monday and here are her stats.

10 lbs 8 oz (97%)

22.25 in long (95%)

15 in head circumference (92%)

10 lbs 15 oz (97%)

22.75 in long (97%)

15.25 in head cir (90%)

I can't find Hannah's stats. All I can find is that she was 9 lbs 8.2 oz.

So back to Miriam. She is still super cute. Over the past couple of days she has been awake alittle bit more. This is fun, but it also means that I get less sleep. Lucky for me, my parents are over often and are super helpful! Unfortunately I don't have any new pictures of her, but here's a cute one of Caleb and the kids.

In other news, my stats show that in 2 weeks I've lost 25lbs. I know, giving birth is a great way to lose weight. Not easy, but well worth it! :-D
